Appointments

Urgent same day appointments

Same day appointments can be requested using any of the methods below (Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm):

  • visit the surgery and speak with our receptionist

Please note, with appointment bookings and to provide you with the best possible care, our care navigators have been instructed to ask you for information about your health concerns. This helps us understand your needs better and navigate you to the most appropriate care and resources. Your well-being is our top priority, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Routine appointments

Routine appointments (not for the same or next day) can be booked using any of the methods below:

  • Online using the link: https://blinx.uk/TyKQi [Please select the appropriate option to book with a nurse or triage team – if you have a medical problem)
  • call us on 0121 270 5540,
  • visit the surgery and speak with our receptionist

Please note, with appointment bookings and to provide you with the best possible care, our care navigators have been instructed to ask you for information about your health concerns. This helps us understand your needs better and navigate you to the most appropriate care and resources. Your well-being is our top priority, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

We also highly encourage you use our online request system Blinx when looking to book an appointment as you can save time and avoid telephone queues.

Online appointments

We would encourage all our patients, who can do so, to use our online request system, Blinx. This will prevent you needing to queue on the telephone and keep lines free for those who do not have internet access.

Please be advised that all of our online medical clinician appointment requests (for example, Triage team, Independent Prescriber or GP) are first reviewed by our clinical triage team and then care navigated based on your symptoms (for example, an appointment could be offered within 2 weeks).   To assess your medical needs we will need you to complete a form with the relevant details.

Your request will be handled in exactly the same manner, whether you complete the Blinx request online form yourself or contact us via telephone – where our receptionists will ask the same questions to ensure equity of access for all patients.

Please note, mindful that these type of requests can take up to 2 working days to process. This does not include weekends and bank holidays.  If you have not heard back from us by the end of the 2 working days after submitting a request then please give our reception/administration team a call to follow up on.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Failure to attend appointments (DNAs)

Failure to attend appointments is often called a Did not attend (DNA).

Not attending appointments is a waste of NHS resources.

Repeat non-attendees will receive a letter of caution and may result in being removed from the practice list.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Home visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can request this by calling reception before 12.00 pm

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound and unable to visit the practice. Our clinician will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
